Creative Writing for all levels
What is creative writing?
Creative writing is anything where the purpose is to express thoughts, feelings and emotions rather than to simply convey information.
Our focus would be on the methodology on brainstorming the student. Let us look at some definitions:
- Creative writing is writing that expresses the writer's thoughts and feelings in an imaginative, often unique, and poetic way.
- Writing is a form of personal freedom.
- It frees us from the mass identity we see all around us.
One aspect of language learning that children find most difficult is writing. Our creative writing programmes for P1 to P6 students have been specially designed to engage students through exciting range of creative writing text types. The students learn how to write expressively and accurately.
A lot of work is done in these programmes on enriching the student's thinking skills. Using question word at the beginning such as 'who', 'where', 'when', 'what', 'why' or 'how' helps them to embark on a brand new writing adventure. These creative writing programmes have been carefully designed to complement the latest MOE guidelines on creative writing.
